Salvation

This week・s devotional is an easy but amazing point listed in Romans as we continue to look at the book of Romans.

6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Have you ever really thought about this? When Jesus left Heaven to come live as a human on earth He didn・t come to die for people who deserved it. He died for people who had sinned against Him and who deserved death. We have a lot of people in the military forces right now. I have two close friends in it right now. They all need our prayer. When a person signs up for the army they know that there is a chance they could die. It is the same with firemen and police officers. They are willing to take that risk to protect our country. What if they were told you will die. Do you think as many would still sign up? Jesus chose to take the mission and the mission was to die. He took our place because as sinners we deserved death. This is true love, that God chose to die for us knowing that we had sinned against Him and didn・t deserve forgiveness.

The rest of Romans 5 talks about how Adam brought sin and death into the world but Christ brought life and forgiveness into the world. I encourage you to read it.I want you to ponder on this great love today. If you know God I encourage you to be reminded that God was willing to die for you and give you the greatest life possible. If you do not know the Lord today you can accept this new life that He died to give you.Simply, Confess your sins, Ask for forgiveness, Give your life to Him asking Him to be Your Lord and Savior.I pray that God will lead each of you to be more and more like Jesus every day.
